Eye Contact, Posture, and Presence
Communication starts before words. A brief glance, a nod, or a hand acknowledgment can express, “I see you, I’ll wait,” better than any rulebook. Keep your posture relaxed, shoulders open, and movements deliberate. Avoid weaving, tailgating, or hovering at someone’s blind spot. If you’re approaching a jittery dog or a child on a scooter, ease your pace and widen your arc. These micro-courtesies scale beautifully: multiply them across many users, and the whole corridor feels calmer, safer, and friendlier.
